Absolutely Fabulous Sweety Darling!

abfab.jpg
Absolutely Fabulous is a show that has enthralled me for years! The first time I ever saw it was during my semester abroad in London in 1995. I took a Women's Studies course on "The British Female Celebrity" (I was the only guy in the class). The professor showed us a clip from AbFab to get our response. Most of the other women in the class were appalled, yet I fell in love with Patsy and Edina on the spot! I then spent the better part of 5 years trying to live their lifestyle, but that is for another entry! After returning to the States, I thought I would never see the show again, mostly because of U.S. censorship and the show's 40 minute time slot. Well, I have been surprised over the years, as the show has been carried by Comedy Central and now the Oxygen network. I don't know what it is about the show, but it just kills me! Maybe because it plays to a fantasy that I and many others share, that of being able to say whatever you want and do whatever you want and damn the consequences! Last night's episode, "Huntin', Shootin' and Fishin'" was about the funniest I have seen yet, especially the pheasant sequence. The show is currently airing on the Oxygen network Friday nights at 9:00 p.m. Eastern. Check it out, and see if you fall under it's spell!

Yeah, I've always like that show, too. I just would catch it here or there randomly. I always felt like I was missing out on the backstory, but I guess the story is just that they still want to party and are embarrassed by the daughter, who actually has her head on straight. I had no idea that series was still new. I thought it was repeats many long years ago.

It was repeats for a long time, and then they realized that so many people were into it that they started doing new series.

did you see the movie when saffy was to marry? i thought i was going to be hospitalized when they put the nicotine patch on her and tried to wax her eyebrows!

That was hysterical! How they came in and sneak-attacked her for her eyebrows!
